It is a study prepared by the Project responsible for increasing the participation of the people in the prevention and resolution of domestic conflicts in collaboration with Never Again Rwanda.

Mrs. Nzasabamariya Solange is an employee of the Pera cell responsible for economic development (SEDO) and says that although they were doing it as their duty to prevent and resolve conflicts, she says that he benefited from higher knowledge to know the location of conflicts, to prevent and resolve them in families.

She said: “Of course, I used to do it and resolve conflicts found in the cell where I am the leader but after receiving this training from USADEC; I learned how to understand conflicts and resolve them in families."

She added that the main source of conflict is marital discord and alcoholism, which causes some families to live in conflict.

She said, "The main conflict that I deal with is fornication for spouses, which makes one of the families live in an unsafe manner; I have gained a lot by solving and understanding the reason for the conflict where one of the spouses did not want to talk about the nature of their problem; thus, I have gained the knowledge to understand those conflicts and how to resolve them.”

The coordinator of the USADEC project in Rwanda, Mr. Mahoro Alexis, says that at the beginning, their research was focused on the Bugarama sector in three cells where 15 people were selected from each cell and 45 people are the ones who have been enlightened by research on family relations and are asking for cooperation in preventing conflicts in families.

Mahoro said: "In the beginning, we started with 45 people from three villages that make up the Bugarama sector to find out what the problem is; to examine and find a solution; so now they have been exposed to the research; they have given a plan of actions that will be done to solve the problem of conflict in that sector.”

The Bugarama sector is inhabited by more than 37,000 people, including immigrants from other places, looking for a livelihood, some of them arrive, and the lifestyle will change, and it is clear that these conflicts are going to kill each other. All of them, killed, will not show the desired changes or be done, but the children will continue to be affected without causing it.
