Mrs. Kampire Belancille was born in 1962 and lived in Rugobagoba in Sovu Cell, Kigabiro Sector in Rwamagana District. She said that the Genocide committed against the Tutsis in 1994 took the lives of her four children and her husband.
Mrs. Kampire admits that her life has become worse because the place where she lives is left in ruins, but she tries to build a house for herself which is also worrying, she is in trouble and the tiles in the rooms are damaged, even cooked in the house where she lives.
She said: “The house I was staying in was not good because it was badly damaged. It looked bad because the house I stayed in was not closed, and I lived in a mess. I cooked inside because I didn't have a kitchen.”
She is proud that a modern residential building was built with the participation of the National Council of Women in Rwamagana District.
She said: “I am very happy because the house I live in is modern and well-equipped. I was thinking about how I will leave that house to live in a good place and I feel it is impossible but because of the leadership of the country that loves us, everything is possible. I'm going to water near my house and I'm going to use it in the kitchen as well.”
Kampire Belancille's daughter-in-law Mrs. Ukwibishaka Anitha said that they have been living in the same house for almost three years.
She confirmed that the house they were living in was in bad shape and that it affected the furniture and food they kept in the house.
She said: “The house was destroyed and the bricks fell into the house. Food was sometimes damaged bricks because there was no kitchen and water in the house."
The coordinator of the National Women's Council in Rwamagana District, Mrs. Uwanyirigira Claudine, said that they decided to build a house for Kampire in a modern house because there was a problem where she lived that could put her life in danger and they decided to calm her down.
She said: "After 30 years, we thought more about her and found that we should change her life because we saw that she was in an inappropriate house, the heart of the family is involved from the national level to the cell level so that he can have a good life."
Mrs. Kampire Belancille found that the members of the National Women's Council visited her and gave her the confidence to live well, thanking them for their role in building the development of the country and the well-being of the people.
She also thanked the country's administration for helping her and she is still alive today.
