The Mvura Nkuvure program means to help each other to be cured of the wound. The people dueled in Gatsibo District who will deliver this program are trained.

HATEGEKIMANA Ashiri, The head of the Department of Good Governance in this district, said that this program was necessary in the district due to the history of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsis, which left wounds among the survivors and perpetrators.

He emphasized that it would help them to forgive each other, so they unite and let the unity and reconciliation rates go up, especially now they reached 95%.

"This Mvura Nkuvure program was necessary because if you look at the history of Gatsibo District, especially in the former municipality of Murambi, there is a genocide committed there that was started by Gatete a long time ago. So you find that there has been a lot of teaching about genocide so this Mvura Nkuvure, even though we often want it to be emphasized that sector because they have been taught brutality, so Mvura Nkuvure will show them that cruelty is useless, it will cure them on their minds," he said.

Those who were trained in the Mvura Nkuvure program in Gatsibo said that they needed such training to be able to help people of different categories who have suffered injuries caused by the Genocide against the Tutsi in 1994, as well as those affected by those injuries.

“What our country went through, in the history of 1994, people's hearts were broken so that it became a series. That is, even a child born at that time can be affected by these effects", UMUTESI said.

“That is why I feel that this training is important for what we will learn from it,” she added.

"It helps us, especially by sharing our experiences of life and the knowledge of emotions and relationships with others, and helps us to be able to repair the wounded hearts of the children", Lilyane Said.

"We live with every day because of the families they come from,” she added.

Bishop NGENDAHAYO Emmanuel; The pastor of the Anglican Diocese of Byumba said that in partnership with MINUBUMWE, they decided to bring the Mvura Nkuvure program to the Gatsibo District to help the local people heal their wounds left by the history of the Genocide against the Tutsis in 1994.

“We chose Gatsibo district in partnership with the Ministry of Rwandan Unity, they brought us here to Gatsibo because of the problems and the need for this program. It is a program that we came up with to help people to develop a good mindset and love each other, a good mindset to get along well with others and reconcile those who have had problems,” he said.

The Mvura Nkuvure program was launched by the Gatsibo district in partnership with the Anglican Church Diocese of Byumba, and it will be implemented by the ICBS project.
