The citizens say they are proud to have elected members of the top institutions of the country transparently, determining its future. Meanwhile, local leaders who attended the elections have shown that the citizens now understand the importance of voting and their responsibilities in choosing the country's future.

In the Southern Province, on July 15th, like elsewhere in Rwanda, citizens from various groups including the elderly, students, security personnel, and others woke up early and headed to the voting sites to vote for the president and members of parliament. From very early hours, the roads were bustling with activity, and those who arrived at the sites seemed as if they had spent the night there, showing that the preparation was excellent.

On the other hand, one might wonder what made these citizens wake up so early when the voting was scheduled to start at 7 AM!

One of them told Isango Star, '...you can see that the citizens are prepared; it feels like a wedding. We are ready to vote for our country's leader and then return to our work.'

Another said, 'I arrived here at 3 AM because I couldn't go back to sleep! I spent the night watching the clock so that I could be among the first to vote, and then I go to work.'"

"I chose to wake up early because if you miss doing something, you must wake up early and do it quickly."

Others expressed that their early wake-up to participate in the elections was driven by their love for the country and its leader.

At the G.S Cyarwa voting site in Tumba Sector, G.S ButareCatholique, and EcoleAutonomme de Butare in Ngoma Sector, there were beautiful traditional Rwandan decorations, accompanied by girls dressed in traditional attire who guided the voters

SEBUTEGE Ange, the mayor of Huye District, also woke up early and stated that the citizens understood the importance of elections.

He said, "It is a joy for me as a Rwandan to fulfil my duty by voting for His Excellency the President of the Republic as well as the members of parliament. It is a pride as a Rwandan and a responsibility to choose the future of our country.

"The citizens have now understood the importance of elections and their responsibilities in choosing the future..."

The presidential and parliamentary elections in the Southern Province were attended by over 2,055,174 voters at 578 polling sites.

In every district and every site, as well as in the voting rooms, you could see decorations that were also placed at the intersections of roads, which were beautifully adorned.

There were even places where after voting, you were given a medal with the national flag as a token of appreciation for determining the country's future, which should be bright.
