Held under the title “We Are Peacemakers. Let’s Walk Together!”, the event aimed to raise awareness of the importance of peace through the voluntary participation of youth, demonstrating action over words.

The event began at Utsubo Park in Osaka with a “Peace Fan-Making” activity. Despite the sudden rainfall, participants continued the “Peace Walk” with sincere hearts for peace, walking together for approximately 3 kilometers from Utsubo Park to Motomachinaka Park.

Around 400 HWPL youth members took part in the walk. Marking the 12th anniversary of the Declaration of World Peace, they marched to deliver the message of peace and their determination to be agents of peace to the local community.

Mr. Koshiba Hidetoshi, an Osaka Sayama City Council member, shared his thoughts on the event.

“I’ve always been interested in peace, but through this event, I became more curious about HWPL and their work. Seeing members continue the peace walk sincerely, even in the rain, left a strong impression on me. It made me want to support their efforts.”

In particular, this Peace Walk followed Midosuji Street, one of Osaka’s most iconic avenues. According to the organizers, the youth’s voluntary peace activities served as a positive message to citizens. HWPL’s Kobe branch announced its plans to continue hosting Peace Walks in various regions moving forward.
