Muhanga: Women appreciate the government's role in their development

The women of Muhanga District appreciate the role of the Government of Rwanda in giving freedom to women over the past 30 years because it is one of the things that helped women develop themselves.

As one of the women working in Muhanga District, Mrs. Furaha says that in the past 30 years, the Government of Rwanda has played a major role in giving women freedom, something she believes has been the cause of women's courage and made them play a significant role in national development.
She said, "In the past 30 years, a woman went from waiting for everything to be done to the point where they can contribute to the development of their family and the country as a whole."
Using an example, she said that she was brave enough to do a job that other women were afraid of, that was to fix the technology equipment.
She said, “Based on the opportunities given to me by our Administration, I was able to learn how to repair electronic equipment, and now I have a company that repairs telephones and delivers electronic equipment to various places that need it. All of this is thanks to the government that has played a role in giving us a platform for freedom as women."
Madam Kayitare Jacqueline, the Mayor of Muhanga District thanked the government of Rwanda for its role in the development of women and also thanked men who recognized the value of women.
She said, “We thank the President of our country, for the value he gave to women in general. We are grateful to the men who know their worth and know that we are the ones who care for them, that we are the ones who raise them, and that we have helped them to expand their families by agreeing to contract with us legally. Also, they didn't value us alone but they also valued themselves because the fact that we are their wives according to the law is also a matter of pride for them."
She continued to say that women are progress, that anyone who wants progress should support women because that is the only way to achieve it, and that the value of a woman is her right.
The theme of International Women's Day 2024 is "30 years of women in development."
