Congress of 70 African women experts: promoting the know-how of African women

The International Congress of the 70 Women Experts from Africa is an ideal opportunity to highlight the know-how of African women and celebrate the diversity that characterises the continent, Solange Be-sa abem Abanda, International President of the Women Experts, said on Tuesday in Tangier.

This conclave of African women experts is focusing on the issue of the performance of African businesses within the Continental Economic Free Trade Area (CAFTA).

At a press conference to present the 3rd edition of the Congress, to be held from 7 to 10 May in Tangiers.

‘Africa is a continent endowed with great wealth’, she added, stressing that the FTAECA represents an opportunity to be seized to move towards a single market, with a view to creating an African common market.

In this vein, Mrs Be-sa'abem Abanda noted that this new edition of the Congress would provide a valuable opportunity to promote pan-African exchanges, highlighting the Kingdom's leading role in the development of the continent and its commitment to regional economic integration.

‘Morocco plays an essential role in strengthening South-South relations, by encouraging links between African countries and promoting the development of cultural and economic exchanges’, she said.

For her part, Mary-Rahma Hom-man, President of the Moroccan section of Women of Expertise, described this international congress, led by African women, as an exceptional project, the benefits of which are destined to last in the long term.

*In Morocco, women hold leadership positions within major entities and organisations, successfully applying their expertise", she noted, highlighting the professional and human skills of women in carrying out economic projects.

Ms Homman also praised the choice of the city of Tangier to host this event, expressing her gratitude to the Moroccan authorities and institutions for their support.

For his part, the founding president of the Organisation Maroc Afrique (OMA), Najib Kettani, emphasised the genesis of this pan-African congress, noting that this important event, which will be held in Tangiers, the gateway to Africa, will bring together a large number of African women, engaged in excellent work alongside men.

He also pointed to the weakness of intra-African trade compared to world trade, noting that the CAF LTA is a crucial opportunity to stimulate trans-African trade and increase the continent's revenues.

Organised by the ‘Femmes d'E pertise d'Afrique’ support structure, in partnership with the OAM, the Rahma association for development and solidarity and the R. bia El Adaouia association for social work and human development.

The aim of the event is to serve as a dynamic platform for exchanging knowledge and expertise, networking and promoting female entrepreneurship.

This year's event will provide all African Females femmes africaine have the opportunity for strengthening their skills to meet the challenges of the FTAA and fully grasp its issues.
