MTN Rwanda Launches “Nicyo Gihe” Campaign to Empower a New Generation

MTN Rwanda has unveiled “Nicyo Gihe” (“The Time Is Now”), a new nationwide thematic platform aimed at inspiring young Rwandans to innovate, create opportunities and help shape the country’s future through digital transformation and connectivity.

Launched on Monday, the initiative comes as Rwanda continues positioning itself as a regional hub for innovation, technology and creativity. MTN Rwanda says the platform is designed to encourage entrepreneurs, artists, students, innovators and dreamers to actively participate in building the country’s future instead of waiting for it.

Described as more than a campaign, “Nicyo Gihe” is presented as a national call to action reflecting the ambition and momentum driving Rwanda’s younger generation. The telecom company says the initiative also reaffirms its long-term commitment to supporting communities with digital tools, connectivity and opportunities needed to thrive in the future economy.

At the center of the thematic is the “Nicyo Gihe Beat,” a collaborative anthem featuring celebrated Rwandan artists from different generations alongside Chorale de Kigali. Combining traditional musical influences with modern sounds, the anthem symbolizes a Rwanda that embraces its cultural identity while confidently pursuing innovation and progress.

Speaking during the launch, Somdev Sen said the campaign reflects the determination and creativity visible among young Rwandans today.

“Nicyo Gihe is a reflection of the ambition and momentum we see across Rwanda today. Everywhere you look, young people are building, innovating, creating and pushing boundaries,” he said.

He added that MTN Rwanda believes technology should not only connect people but also empower them to fully participate in shaping the future they want.

For nearly three decades, MTN Rwanda says it has grown alongside Rwandans by supporting businesses, connecting families, empowering youth and helping communities participate in a rapidly evolving digital world.

Through “Nicyo Gihe,” the company says it intends to continue enabling progress and innovation while creating opportunities through digital connectivity.

According to MTN Rwanda, the message behind the thematic is clear: now is the time to build solutions, innovate fearlessly, create opportunities and shape Rwanda’s future together.
