Organized by HWPL’s International Branch 4, the ceremony brought together 140 participants, including distinguished guests and representatives from 11 countries across Africa and Asia. The gathering underscored the growing recognition of the DPCW as a vital instrument in promoting sustainable peace worldwide

Speakers emphasized the importance of viewing peace as an actionable commitment rather than a theoretical concept. They noted that lasting peace can be achieved through education, good governance, and active citizen participation. Concrete examples were shared from countries that have already begun implementing the DPCW, offering practical insights for other leaders seeking to adopt similar approaches to foster sustainable development.

The DPCW, officially proclaimed in 2016, consists of 10 articles and 38 clauses. It was developed through collaboration among legal experts from various countries, aiming to establish guiding principles for achieving lasting peace grounded in human rights, justice, and freedom.

Participants also shared their perspectives during the event. Ponciano da Cruz Leite, an advisor at the Ministry of Justice of Timor-Leste, stated that his country plans to “strengthen peace education, dialogue initiatives, and campaigns that promote social unity.”

Meanwhile, Mahamat Kao Adoum, a journalist and director of MEDD TV INFO TCHAD VERT, stressed that "peace can be advanced through education and by transforming conflicts into opportunities for development."

Looking ahead, HWPL reaffirmed its commitment to expanding partnerships with countries worldwide and advancing initiatives that promote a culture of peace, with the ultimate goal of achieving lasting global peace.
