An annual international conference focusing on the challenges facing the media is underway in Germany

 An the annual international conference entitled the 'Global Media Forum', organized by the international media outlet Deutsche Welle, is being held to find solutions to various issues facing the media. In this conference, it was highlighted that although artificial intelligence is helpful, it should not be trusted 100% as it sometimes provides incorrect information.

It is an annual conference taking place in the city of Bonn, Germany, addressing various issues facing the media and seeking solutions, as explained by Grace Ubaruta, the representative of Deutsche Welle in African countries including Rwanda.

She said, 'This annual conference brings together people from all over the world, from every continent, including journalists and anyone involved with the media. The goal of this conference is to assess the current state of the media, its future, the role of the media in democracy, and to explore technological solutions.

On the topic of technology, which was also mentioned by the Director General of Deutsche Welle, Peter Limbourg, during the official opening of the conference, he stated that although artificial intelligence is helpful, it should not be trusted 100% as it sometimes provides incorrect information.

He said, 'True progress cannot be achieved by machines alone determining what should be included in the news. Artificial intelligence can indeed assist, but crucial decisions in journalism must always be made by people. Human foresight is the key to reducing the spread of incorrect information provided by artificial intelligence.'

This annual Global Media Forum, organized by Deutsche Welle, lasts for two days, addressing various issues facing the media and seeking solutions. It brings together participants from different countries around the world, including Isango Star from Rwanda.
